Moving Day

We're moving from Singapore today to our assigned area in Malasia. The mission couple, the Carpenters are taking us in the mission car, then they will stay over night and come back here tomorrow or maybe the next day. We're going to be in a small branch that is really growing - helping with "new member support" shadow leadership, service, etc. They are having 9 baptisms there this Saturday. It is a large city and we'll be moving into an apartment that has been vacant for a little over a month. Another senior couple lived there before us. The mission president would really like us to get a car - rent or lease - that might be fairly expensive, so we'll have to see. Besides it's a whole new learning curve with driving on the other side of the road - and it looks like kind of a whole new driving experience. President Clark thinks we can be a lot more effective and use our time more wisely if we have a car. The city we'll be in is Johan Bahaur - uh, we'll check the spelling on that later. Singapore is just beautiful - the most interesting high rise buildings we've ever seen. Interviewed with President Clark yesterday then had dinner at his home last night with the 6 outgoing elders and all coming in - which is just the two of us. Casual, enjoyable, laughing and testimonies at the end. We've got our nights and days under control, although the first day without sleep was pretty hard. We're now sleeping at nights. We figure the time at home by subtracting two hours from the time it is here, then changing to the opposite side of the clock - like A.M. to P.M. and vice versa. We'll post again when we get moved and settled in - not sure what the "internet" accessibility will be. We're ready to move on, as living out of our suitcases is getting rather old. It's HOT!
