Buff at the end of the marathonOkay... this might not be in our mission, but a big congrats to Buffy on her 3:29 finish in Boston. Even though it meant we were up most of the night, it was so fun to watch her stats come in every 5K. We were cheering, nervous, and did a little pacing. I know she's had a few problems with running since her gall bladder removal and worried she couldn't hold onto the pace she was running. Even after she finished, I wondered if she was laying on the ground throwing up. But a phone call with her cheery voice at the end greeting me with...."Mommy" and I could tell she was just fine. Didn't get to bed until after 4:00 A.M. It was worth it.Then had a full day today with my own 'very puny' run, then District Mtg and lunch here and visiting all afternoon. It was killer hot today - At one of the homes we visited, they had a couch and invited me to sit there, but I actually opted for the floor as sitting on the cement was a little cooler. Still, the sweat trickling down my back reminded me that it wasn't really cool enough. But it's okay. We did a combined 'after baptism' lesson with Regina and Melati - both husbands are doing 'off shore' work in Russia. The lesson was on the Priesthood and temples. Melati shed tears when she heard that in time, even if her husband doesn't join the church, she can go to the temple. She said that gives her 'hope.' It was touching to us. So many women seem drawn to the church and it's teachings, but often men are either 'missing in action' or come along much later when they see the 'fruits.' Had a nice FHE in our apt last night with two single men members and one fiance. The single men seemed to really enjoy the chicken\potatoes\gravy American dinner. Good evening. It's getting late - welcoming bedtime tonight! Tomorrow - Preparation Day - Hooray!
