Happy New Years! Wow, 2012... already. This is how we spent our New Years Eve.
At the Masai Branch baptism. Here is Willie, who asked Elder Gregory to baptize him.
And this is Esmerlda - one of a family being baptized. Also requested 'Grandpa Gregory.'
And this is the family - Father Ayu (pronounced I-oo) on the right. Next is his mother - Pince then his wife Leah. Their two daughters in front Esmerelda and Natasha. Their son, Gary, on the far left was going to be baptized also but just can't quite kick the cigarettes. Next to him is his wife - Alise - who was baptized and their little baby. There is also a Grandpa who didn't attend but is working on giving up alcohol so he can be baptized also. So total number being baptized at this time was was 9. Today at church - 9 confirmations took a good share of the meeting.

Celebrating with a dinner of roti at a little eating place right after the baptism. Transfers are coming up in a week and we know some of these elders will be leaving. A few have been here since July - their first area. Gosh - we hate to see them leave. We'll miss them. With the branch division and district creation and baptisms, we've actually become a pretty close little group. Oh yes, a group of 9 white guys and one little old white lady eating at a local outdoor place - causes some stares. We didn't care. It was New Years Eve and we had great cause to celebrate.
