You're going to be tired of my pics before you get through this post. Devan called late the other night to see if we were all right because we hadn't posted for a while. Let's see... it's only been a week - but nice to know someone cares. Last Sunday the Garrett's and Howarth's - senior couples from Singapore came over for church and stayed for lunch here after. It was soooo nice to visit and we enjoyed American food. Then on Monday night we did FHE with Brother Ng and wife, Pong. Was worried that our little 'word of wisdom' lesson was too simple - as we usually give it to families with small children. But they seemed to enjoy it. We gave them the 5 finger FHE advice - 1 prayer 2 song 3 lesson 4 game & 5 treat. They don't speak English - Pong only speaks Chinese so two elders went with us to translate into Malay, then Ng translated it into Chinese for his wife. Everyone enjoys a family game, even if you don't speak the same language. We were surprised at the sincere questions they had - things that are a change from their culture and past traditions. Big changes in their lives. Tonight (Saturday) we had a baptism - Peter - Hooray. I'll let Garald tell more about that. But here's a few pics from tonight.

Would you believe I paid 25.00 for one cupcake pan in Singapore on Thurs. Christina was so excited a few weeks ago and asked me if I knew how to make cupcakes. I told her I did, but needed a pan. She wants me to teach her - mmmm .... pretty basic stuff, but not to her. So today I did 75 cupcakes for the baptism dinner. Used a zip loc bag for decorator and coiled the frosting around, then topped with cherry. It was kinda fun, but my hand was pretty tired by the time I got through. Christina was surprised and very appreciative.
The Browns were in Singapore on Thurs for a Visa Run and had to run the same errand we did, so we went over and this very kind gal - Jocelyn Stevens and her daughter Ava picked us up at the MRT stop and chauffered us everywhere we needed to go. She's from Provo and is here with her husband's work. Has 5 darling daughters and zips around Singapore with great expertise. Not only did she escort us everywhere we needed to go, but she acted like she was enjoying it. We certainly did. She's delightful and a wealth of knowledge about everything Singaporean. She knew right where to go for the cupcake pan. That was not the main errand we were on though. Just a little side trip. Thanks Jocelyn. We went to CAlif. Pizza Kitchen for lunch. I couldn't remember the names of the green things in my salad that I love and haven't eaten since leaving the states - she told me - edamame. Oh yeah. Then I couldn't remember the name of the school in Draper that's up in South Mtn - where her nephew goes. Really - the other seniors tell me it's typical. Since moving here - I can't hardly remember names or numbers or simple things that used to be very common. It's crazy. No - maybe it's me that's just losing it. Or maybe I can blame it on the heat - which has seemed to really ramp up lately. Some locals tell us that's because it's summer here now. Oh My!
Well, Garald just COULD NOT stand the fact that everyone at home is planting gardens. Hunted for pots, seed and soil and has a few things growing on our balcony. We're surprised that we don't see any gardens here. Seems like you could plant a stick in this climate and it would grow.
On Tuesday, some of the people we're giving 'after baptism' lessons to, came to our apartment with their children and went swimming. But it was overcast and they said they were freezing and didn't swim for too long. Yup - cold - probably clear down to 85 degrees. This is Melati and daughter, Ashley.
